WORLDWIDE PHILHARMONIC – Music without the red tape!
WHO & WHAT
The Worldwide Philharmonic is a non-profit-making orchestra based on the collaboration of talented artists. Our aim is to perform a magnificent concert, and we believe that with great players, repertoire and musical spirit, we will create an unforgettable occasion. Under a world-renowned and much-loved artistic direction - Jacques Zoon, the orchestra will be composed of great artists such as Iseut Chuat, Cameron Roberts and Paolo Borsarelli, combined with emerging new talents such as Philippe Tondre, Sawa Fatkulin and Alberto Menéndez Escribano, among many others that we will have the pleasure of announcing during our Verkami campaign.
WHY
On November 8, with your generous help, we will bring some of the great musicians of the world to the magnificent Sala Mozart in Zaragoza, and we urge you to be a part of this small but unprecedented revolution! We don’t need expensive budgets, public subsidies, an XXL bureaucratic staff or a centenary building of our own. Let’s be honest – music doesn’t need any of those things!
We don't want to be just one more orchestra – we want to be one of the first successful crowd-funded orchestras! Our first concert will be in Spain, but our second concert could be in Brazil, or in India ... We want to depend on the citizens of the world and not on governments that insist, through their political actions, that culture is not a priority, with more and more budget cuts to the arts and education.
We believe that in times of crisis, live performance music should not stop being played, especially with so many talented young musicians keen to play and audiences hungry to listen to music of the highest quality.
Worldwide Philharmonic has 750 tickets destined for our stakeholders, who will make this project possible!
WHERE
Our inaugural concert will be on November 8 at 8:15pm in the Auditorio-Palacio de Zaragoza, Spain.
THE PROGRAM
WHAT DO WE NEED THE MONEY FOR
First of all, we would like to emphasize that our musicians have all accepted to play for free! All we are asking is to be able to cover the expenses related to travel, accommodation and meals for the participants. To those who cannot attend the concert we would love to send you a recording of the event. We believe that Crowd-funding is an alternative way to help support cultural events. We hope that, thanks to your help, 50 musicians from all over the world will celebrate and share the magical gift of music.
Funding on Verkami is all-or-nothing – our project must reach our funding goal to receive any money. All-or-nothing funding might seem terrifying, but we believe that it is amazingly effective in creating momentum and rallying people around an idea.
On this occasion, any money raised beyond our target will be donated in its entirety to ASPANOA – Asociación de Padres de Niños Oncológicos de Aragón (Association for Parents of Children with Cancer in Aragón).
